Planning a wedding can be challenging. Maybe you have the dress, the date, and venue picked out. The flowers were ordered, and the cake is ready to go. What’s left? Of course, one major event needs to be organized before you can obtain wedded bliss.

The Bachelorette Party!

Bachelorette parties are still relatively new in the wedding world. Though the first how-to guide was only published 20 years ago, the idea of celebrating love and weddings is a long-standing tradition. Getting together your favorite friends to celebrate your upcoming nuptials is one of the most fun parts of wedding planning. The question for the modern bride now is: What should I plan for at the party?

Some brides prefer a lowkey night around the town, while other bridal parties opt for an extravagant destination party. Chicago is a perfect city to visit for both types of bridal parties. The Windy City is home to countless museums, bars, live music venues and more. For out of towners, there are myriad options to explore in our 170+ neighborhoods. For local brides, use this time to take a chance on venturing outside of your usual stomping grounds!

Specifically, South Loop is an excellent place to visit (we are only slightly biased!) Not only are we in close proximity to the exciting sites in the Loop, but we are home to many of Chicago’s famous landmarks. Grant Park is quick walk from Fox in a Box and hosts dazzling views of the skyline and Lake Michigan. Chicago’s legendary Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum are easily located adjacent to South Loop too. Take your bridal party to a water show at the Shedd or wave to Sue the T-Rex at the Field! All of these are a short walk up to Millennium Park, which hosts the Bean (or Cloud Gate, the real name of the artwork), perfect for selfies of your matching outfits. If you’re up for a good scare, book a night in the haunted Congress Plaza Hotel. And just one stop on the L south, you can visit Chinatown and eat some of the best food the city has to offer.

Beyond tourist spots, South Loop has a great selection of restaurants to choose from. A block away from out location, you can grab a deep-dish pizza at Lou Malnati’s (sorry Giordano’s!) Looking to pre-game? Bulldog Ale House is right down the street and offers amazing drink specials to really get the party started. One block in the other direction, Clark Street is home to so many amazing restaurants and bars; it’s hard to go wrong in South Loop! And maybe, if you’re lucky, when playing one of our rooms you’ll find a coupon for a free appetizer at Bar Louie.

If you’re looking for more activities to do with a large group of girls who might not know each other well, an escape room is a perfect opportunity for bonding your sister, childhood best friend and your college roommate. Nothing creates a sense of comradery like disarming a nuclear warhead in the Bunker, stealing some diamonds in the Bank, breaking out of jail in the Prison, or escaping death after being kidnapped by the Zodiac killer. You never have to worry about any strangers ruining the vibe, because all of our rooms are completely private.  With our amazing location and fun puzzles, it’s hard to go wrong with Fox in a Box - Chicago. Book now to ensure a perfect bachelorette weekend!
